ABOUT US

OUR STORY

Singapore Global International School (SGIS) was established to deliver authentic Singapore education in Bangkok - academically rigorous, holistic, values-centred, and accessible to families across the region.

SGIS is co-founded by Principals Academy Inc (PAI). PAI is a Singapore institution established through a partnership between the Academy of Principals Singapore (APS) and the Economic Development Board of Singapore.

PAI has been working with Education Ministries and institutions in the region to develop and certify school leaders and educators outside of Singapore.

SGIS’s founding partners also include a Singapore-headquartered private education group with over 30 years of experience and more than 30 campuses across Asia, a Singapore institutional investor, and Thai investors committed to advancing education quality for Thai children.

SGIS will open its doors in August 2027 at our campus in Srinakarin, Bangkok.

Built by the people who shaped Singapore's education.

SGIS is Bangkok’s first international school co-founded by Principals Academy Inc (PAI) - the Singapore institution established by the Academy of Principals (Singapore) and the Economic Development Board (EDB) to develop and certify school leaders.

SGIS'S ADVANTAGE

Lion Head Watermark

Many international schools offer a Singapore-style education. SGIS is the only one built by the people who define what that actually means.

Co-founded by Principals Academy Inc (PAI), Singapore

SGIS is co-founded by PAI, which was established by the Academy of Principals Singapore and Singapore’s Economic Development Board, and launched in 2004 by then-Minister for Education Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, currently President of Singapore. PAI’s mission is to be Asia’s leading education resource, empowering educators and institutions through professional development, accreditation, and consultancy.

All SGIS teachers are interviewed, trained, and certified by PAI prior to appointment. This ensures that classroom practice at every level meets the standards of Singapore’s national education framework.

SGIS is guided by an Academic Advisory Board comprising former principals and senior educators from institutions including Raffles Institution and National Junior College. All have extensive experience in international school leadership across the region.

SGIS adopts Singapore’s refreshed MOE framework across all year levels – from Early Years through to Cambridge IGCSE and A-Levels. The framework is structured, research-based, and designed to develop academic excellence, values and character, and the whole child.
